BIO
For many years, Eric Lavoie spent his nights on a bus, driving from one small prairie town to another, grinding it out on the cold and unforgiving junior hockey circuit. While he decided to hang up his skates for good in 2017, his rambling nature never left; resilient, forward moving, with an unrelenting need to push on.
Since his first two releases in the summer of 2024 (“Dark Cloud Blues” & “Ballad of Stolen Sisters”), the Red River Métis singer-songwriter has been working to refine himself as a musician. He writes from a place of honesty and freedom, and uses his hard-driving country blues style of guitar playing to move the songs forward and add a little bit of charm to the stories he’s telling. Eric’s songwriting touches on many different topics, from identity & belonging, to persistence in the face of adversity, to fictional outlaw tales that draw from real life experience. With a debut EP in the works, made up from several songs he has written over the past few years, Eric continues to push on as he prepares to put this collection of songs out into the world in early 2027. He continues to connect with live audiences wherever he goes, rambling from show to show and doing his best to leave each person who crosses his path with a grin.
